Hi Salty and Southerners! The new tank from Greenstyle Creations is here and love would be an understatement! I've already made five of them and worn one to yoga! There are many things to cover in this post, so let's dive in.
First off, let's talk Tie Back Tank. When working out, being able to stay cool in the hot southern weather and looking cute are two things I value. When athleisure became a thing I was all over it. The problem there was I cannot fit in the cute athleisure clothes from stores like Lululemon. What's a girl to do when that is the problem? Make her own version that fits with a great pattern!
The Tie Back Tank is a semi fitted open back tank that has so many options! It has high neck, low neck, full back, racer back, shirt length or cropped. My favorite part about this tank is the subtle open back. You can keep it open or tie it up, which is how I wear mine. It's a great way to show some skin but not get too crazy. You have the option of finishing the neck and armcycle with binding or bands. It can be made from triblend, rayon spandex, cotton lycra, nylon spandex, or poly spandex. As long as it has good 4 way stretch you're good to go! Depending on which fabric you choose you can either dress it down for the gym or dress it up for date night. One tester even used stretch lace for the back and another used stretch mesh. With the flirty open back and styling choices you can easily mix it up.
I chose to make the high neck, full back, banded neck and armcycle in the 3XL size and used triblend from Knitpop.
This is such a quick and easy sew. From printing the pattern to the last stitch I was able to get a tank in about 45 minutes. Also, I was able to get the largest size from one yard. Score for one yard patterns!!
On to testing for Greenstyle Creations. Now, I'm relatively new to the pattern testing world, which can be pretty intimidating with all the amazingly talented women out there. When Courtney tagged me in the testing call, I figured why not apply? Never did I think I would actually get picked! Angelyn did a phenomenal job on the design. Every time she received feedback she immediately took it and ran with it. She came back with improvements and was very interactive with the group answering questions almost immediately. It was great to work with such a seasoned professional.
Last but not least, do we have any Parks and Recs fans?!? Silhouette sent us a fantastic box of goodies to try out and I had to add my favorite Andy Dwyer quote. More on the HTV process and Silhouette goodies soon. ;)
What do you guys think? Is this something you'd love to see in the shop?
